Biography

Raphael Pepper (b. 1979 in Essex, England) graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2003 with a BA and MA in Drawing. Since then he has exhibited widely throughout the United Kingdom in both solo and group shows, including exhibitions at Sarah Myerscough Fine Art, London (2004); Ben Uri (2004); James Hyman Fine Art, London (2006); Firstsite/The Minories, Colchester (2006); and Abbot Hall Art Gallery, (2006), Jerwood Space (2007) and Roman Black Gallery (2008). Pepper's work is represented by several public collections including Abbot Hall, the Ben Uri, the Guildhall Art Gallery and the Southwark Collection. His drawings have been reviewed and illustrated in a number of national publications, including The Independent newspaper. A joint forthcoming national touring show will go from the Guildhall Art Gallery in London to the National Museum and Gallery of Wales in 2009.
